Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate
Job Purpose: The department of Molecular and Cellular Biology is seeking a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join our interdisciplinary team engaged in antibacterial drug discovery. The successful candidate will work on the biological characterization of novel antibacterial agents, including susceptibility, mechanism of action, and resistance studies.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform biological assays, analyze data, and summarize results. • Routinely handle pathogenic bacteria • Design biochemical and cell-based experiments to answer project-relevant questions. • Assist in new assay development and troubleshooting. • Communicate results, ideas, and proposed plans informally and in presentations/reports. • Organize and prioritize workload to meet timelines.
Qualifications: • BS or MS in the biological sciences with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience. • Practical experience in microbiology: bacterial physiology, biochemistry, and/or genetics. • Sound understanding of assay design, instrumentation, and troubleshooting. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
